Dear GP, I am so sorry to read that you didn't pass. I thought about you tonight as I have each bar result since 2008. 2012 here you come and we will all be here for your victory dance.
I'll be taking Feb too and I am also pissed. I am getting closer and closer and no cigar but atleast I know I can pass and under my own steam. And so can you.
GP: I am starting to think you approach the CA bar exam as a part time gig. Your response after failing seems to be, oh well, maybe next time. Perhaps, you are not the exam seriously enough and not putting everything else in your life on hold while you prepare? What do you think?
I have a buddy who is like you having taken the CBX many times. He will focus on MBE for one exam and then essays for another. It is just a hobby outside of his real job, never really taking the time to get it done right.
To Anonymous re: not taking the exam seriously enough. I can't speak for GP, but that is true for myself. I get distracted, play games, look at facebook, and yes, my job is a distraction.
I thought I could do it and still work, only working part time. But it is a huge interruption. Then when I have time to study, other crap comes up. I think the way I will pass is immnerse myself in this preparation. I was not really prepared when I took it last time.
So sorry
