What with the family and the 55 hours a week I spent at work and commuting, not to mention the house payment, the traditional program just wasn't feasible.

Because I was a BarBri rep at my school, they provided me their bar prep program free of charge. I'm using them for the up-to-date study materials, the writing workshops, essay critiques, and to fill in any gaps in my study schedule (lol, gaps).

That left me the option to spend the cash I saved on BarBri on another tutor. I chose Paul because he had the local classes in addition to the personal phone coaching. Despite the fact that he's very good, I don't think I would have picked him if I had to do all of my communications by phone.

I think immediate personal feedback is critical to building an effective essay writing style at this late date. You made the right choice. The Grand Poobahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07226524231756836464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5559983208580788273.post-56329244530755898372007-06-09T08:58:00.000-07:002007-06-09T08:58:00.000-07:00I've spoken with Paul(prior to Feb 07). My only problem with the whole tutor-by-phone thing was that I felt I needed the in-person connection if I was to hire a tutor for this July. I did find one locally, and hired her last week. She works solely with repeaters from a local ABA law school (which I did not graduate from-I went the "non-traditional" route), but agreed to work with me.
So you are doing the Barbri in-class general course in addition to Paul? I am sure you do not have time for much else!calbar blondiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17059781747527009243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5559983208580788273.post-43991201788476234212007-06-08T00:22:00.000-07:002007-06-08T00:22:00.000-07:00It's Paul Phau. His program is called the Cal Bar Tutorial Review http://www.cbtronline.com/
He attracts a lot of repeaters to his program and he's pretty good at getting them through. What I like about him is that he will work with you as far in advance of the test as you want. Two of my classmates are working with him now for the Feb '08 exam. He returns phone calls promptly, goes over essays with you over the phone in detail, and helps you plan the study time that you have available. You get much more personal service for about the same price as BarBri.The Grand Poobahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07226524231756836464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5559983208580788273.post-34382112333373162532007-06-07T20:37:00.000-07:002007-06-07T20:37:00.000-07:00Do you mind sharing with us who your tutor is?
