It looks like I may have jumped the gun a bit ...

... on registering for the Feb '08 exam. I was just on the CalBar website and found an announcement that unsuccessful July '07 candidates can't register for the next exam until November 19th. I wonder if that tidbit of trivia was up there on Friday when I registered. I don't think it was because it's fairly prominently placed now. It's definitely not in the fine print. If I registered too early, I wonder what happens to my earlier application (and my credit card transaction!)? I guess a phone call to the State Bar is now on my agenda for tomorrow. Like I really want to talk to those folks right now.

I just took another look at the Bar site. This document is what I remember reading. And as of this moment it says nothing about November 19th. It only lists the timely filing date of December 4th.

It looks like I'll have to come up with a new title for this blog. I think a temporary change is in order until I can come up with something appropriate. Blah.

Roadkill is what I feel like right now. I've got the taste of a Michelin model XGV tire, size 75R14 in my mouth. It was on the stolen Metallic Mint Green 1963 Pontiac Tempest, with a white convertible top, that the State Bar was driving when they ran me over.

Damn. So sorry. I was totally rooting for you. Hang in there, GP.

Your new blog name should have your name on it. Maybe put a few suggested titles up on the site and let your fans vote in a poll?

Hey CBB: My name, eh? Do you mean my "Grand Poobah" name?

I'm going to have to put some thought into this. When I picked the original title, being the optimistic guy that I am, I piked one that implied this would be a one-exam episode. I didn't realistically anticipate coming back for season two. So now I'm in a bit of a quandary as to what to call the sequel.

If I may, I have some suggestions for your blog's title.

How I kicked CA Bar Exam's ass! or This is how I kicked CA Bar Exam's ass.

I think the title should be encouraging, to you and others. Everytime someone reads your blog (including you), they should get an Adrenaline rush. Just my 2 cents.

Hey, GP,

Thanks so much for this site. I'm very sad to see you have to go through it all again. But you obviously have the right attitude and all the brains this thing requires.

Good luck and stay strong! Let us know if there's anything we can do for you, out here in Internet-land.

Yes, I'd say The Grand Poobah's name should be on it. That's how I have you listed on my blog, and how everyone refers to you(affectionately, of course!).

I agree, your blog's title should be "Grand Poobah"! I tried to post before when you announced that you hadn't passed, but I think my comment got lost because I couldn't find it later. But the bar exam is a farce. I'm so sorry to hear that things didn't turn out the way that you (and the rest of us!) hoped. Just don't give up and you WILL pass!
