Wow... has it really .....?!?!?

Okay. I know. Silence is Golden. Sometimes.

I'm silent these days because I've been sequestering myself in a spare office, in a friend's law office, surrounded by outlines and old essays, with no internet access.

I figured the best way to study these last few weeks was to insulate myself (almost) completely from the real world. So far, so ... insulated.

Hey, look, the sun is shining today!

Now, it's time to get back over to my remote study dungeon.

Happy studying/practicing/cramming!

Just a question...are you memorizing the law for each subject for the essays or just reading outlines and/or old essays. A tutor asked me to memorize all of them ,one by one, re -reviewing what wa aalready memorized each day. Its tough, but maybe it will work, as long as it stays in your head and you identify the issues. Let me know what you guys think. Anything in these last few days will help.

Obviously, everyone studies differently, but I would suggest doing some memorizing - knowing the "concepts" is useful, but having pre-memorized nuggets for the essays is pretty helpful too. Bonus: memorizing a digestible outline will pretty much double as a conceptual review!

If you haven't started memorizing yet, I would at least memorize PR (you can't miss - it's on every test!)

GP, no explanation needed!
:)
I did the same thing last year as I sequestered myself to my bedroom. It was really for the best. No distractions. Just law. Occasionally, a family member would leave food or check if I was still breathing.

Keeping doing what you need to do!

Good luck!!!

To Anon 12:04. I took the bar in Feb 08 and missed by 30 points because I bombed the MBEs. I spent so much time focusing on doing essays and MBEs (per Barbri's instructions), I forgot to simply make sure I knew the law and all of the nuances, which is necessary for the MBEs. This time (I skipped July), I stopped doing essays on Monday and have spent the last few days simply memorizing and rewriting my flash cards. I do two subjects a day. It's tedious and my hand hurts something fierce, but it's the one thing I'm doing differently this time and I wish I had one it the first time. I figure that at this point, I can either write a passing essay or I can't. Moreover, I started doing MBEs in November (!!) and am burning out on them. This is a nice break to the monotony of multiple choice and essays from the last few weeks. Finally, I took BarGraders this time, and I if I learned nothing else, I learned that they are in fact sticklers for accurate statements of the law. BarBri tells people to make it up, but I don't think that's wise. Anyway, that's my two cents.

After missing the bar by three points last time, I am not sure what else I can do but continue what got me close and hope that the questions are frindly. In a strange way I am less stressed because I have no delusions that bar passage will matter that much in this job market. Sad to say we may be at the point of applying for clerk jobs even with a license, but good luck to all and let's hope the economy gets back on track.

Good luck to all of you taking the California Bar this time around. I feel for each and every one of you.

It's been crazy. My head feels like its exploding. All the subjects are starting to merge together. All I can do, is procrastinate, because I'm afraid to study more!!! Yet, I know I'm three days away. Breathe....
