Waiting for results. I have no interest in reading those Q's right now, do you?

Anon 6:57: I agree. I rarely remember what I wrote, even just a few days after the exam. I think that's due to the fact that by the time I get to the exam I'm basically on autopilot and I'm trying to deal with the problem in front of me. And when I'm done with one question I clear my head to deal with the next one, etc. So by the time I get to the last question of the last day, having dealt with 8 unique stressful challenges, my subconscious seeks safety in blissful oblivion.

Or not. Who really knows.

Which leads to ...

Anon 8:48: Indeed. I don't really care to look at the questions in depth without some frame of reference because the thought that always goes through my mind when reading just the released questions is, '... and what the heck did I write on that one?'

I know some people will disagree, but we're all unique and what works for some won't work for others.

Regardless, there's nothing we can do about it now but wait for Friday at 6:00 p.m.

... and it looks like I replied to those comments out of order, or something. Apologies for the confusion.

30 hours till go time...Still confident as you were the other day?

Will you post withinn minutes of your receipt of the results regardless? I ask because I have it calendared here to check the blog at 6:10 p.m. tomorrow night to see if you passed..

Hey Tim,

Yes, I intend to do a quick post with my results, whether positive or negative.

My confidence hasn't changed (much) because my recollection of the exam has faded over time, and nothing has happened that would cause me to doubt my initial post-exam impressions. I still feel fairly positive overall but, given my history, I'm trying to be realistic in my expectations. After all, the odds of passing for someone in my situation are pretty low.

I've been through this enough times that I don't even get butterflies anymore when I think about the results. Whatever is going to happen has already happened (does that make sense?) But my outlook remains positive.

Thanks,

Brian

I am, however, going to change up my regular results-checking routing by having a couple of friends do the deed.

Even though I no longer get butterflies in anticipation of the results, I do get a little sick to my stomach when I see the horrible "... name does not appear on the pass list" message.

If my friends check for me, good news will always be good news. But bad news might not be so jolting if I'm not the one seeing it for the first time.

Don't let your friends check unless you trust them to be honest the first time they report to you.. What a horrible joke a person could play in a situation like this.

Good luck man, I may not care for Tolerico, but that has no bearing on my hope that you passed this time. I've followed your exploits since I took the exam, which just happened to be your first time. Every year around this time I check to see how you're doing. I really hope you get it this time. I'll be checking up again later on this evening with my fingers crossed.

Hey Tim,

Yes, I trust them. They're my lawyer buddy and his paralegal, and I'm working out of the same office (I'm about 20 feet away from the computer they're going to check from.) They've been with me for much of my ordeal and they want me to pass as much, if not more, than I do.

Anon 4:33: Thanks. I've heard similar comments from others. It will be nice to be relieved, finally, of this bi-annual(?) torment (knocking on my wooden head.)

Wishing you the best...

And please keep the blog open after you pass... We want to hear about all your job interviews...

The Grand Poobah said...

No interviews required. I've got a job. Hanging my own shingle, or partnering up with my buddy. We already do the same kind of work - he as a lawyer and me as a layperson. Plus, I've already got enough work as a Private Investigator to keep me in the black for a while.

Poobah! Just wanted to wish you all the best of luck today. Your tenacity and good spirits are highly admirable traits. May your office come to life with a mighty roar of cheers and applause on your success this evening (seems like a good enough way to find out you win). We are all pulling for you.
