I've been reluctant to write a post mortem because I'm not confident that I can remember what I wrote on the exam. And sure enough, when I looked at the released answers for July 2012 I discovered that I cannot recall my answers enough to do you justice. Therefore I am officially, finally, unceremoniously, declaring that no post mortem will be forthcoming. My apologies to those who were counting on one, although with my record I cannot imagine why anyone would want to know what I wrote.
Anyway, thanks for asking. I do appreciate that some of you were interested enough in my opinion to ask for it. I regret that I am unable to meet your expectations.

It's okay my poobah cat friend. I know what a great blogger and capitalist you are and I'm sure that your answers were as awesome as your blogosphere. Come November great Poobah esq. adventure begins.
We still love you, GP
Why do you let that Big Cat idiot post GP? I hate that stupid cat. Worst thing that has happened to your blog and the internet. Please regulate here GP.
I don't get the capitalist references. Can you explain GP?
Anon 7:15: Regarding the "Capitalist" reference, I've had some off-line communications with the BC and that's what s/he's taken to calling me. Apparently his/her political inclination is in the opposite direction.
Do you talk to BC GP? I thought you hated BC? I for one hate BC and the tomfoolery associated with it/him/her. This is a serious blog - the CBX is serious and should be treated as such.
And who refers to GP as a capitalist? What are, in the middle of the the early 1900s Bolshevic Revolution? Red scare?
Ha! Someone (or feline) is trapped in the 60s. Sound slike we've got the Austin Powers of the CBX on our hands here.
hahaha that idiot is still around. Guarantee GP passes the CBX before that idiot cat.
You can do it GP! Please pass in november so this distraction will end.
Can you elaborate on your conversions with Big Cat? Do you know who/what/where this feline is? I thought you didn't know Big Cat? If you do know him/her/it, do you recommend the BC outlines?
Thanks GP! Hoping that you won't be taking the exam in February like I no doubt will be.
Anon: 2:51: Nope, I still don't know its true identity. It says it wants to be a guest-blogger here but I am holding off until, and unless, I know who it is. So far, it has refused to reveal its true identity to me. I know nothing about it other than it's pen name. And I can't recommend something about which I know nothing.
Big Cat is one weird dude / lady. I emailed before the bar exam to get the outlines and was told that Big Cat was resting? WHO RESTS BEFORE THE BAR EXAM!! I just don't trust Big Cat after that and I commend you for holding strong to your demands GP.
It's your blog and we have more important things to do than listen to some lazy cat who rests when it is not supposed to be resting.
I think a Big Cat post could be amusing, but it certaily won't have an literarily value. Poobah would destroy BC in a battle of the wits. Poobah - It is your blog and obviously you are free to do what you think makes sense, but have you considered challenging this idiot to a debate / blogoff just to shut this down once and for all?
I'm sure you will win GP. I emailed Big Cat and was told he was "resting" and couldn't help me. He / she is not motivated and driven like you.
I am a long time blog aficionado and am preparing to take the Cal Bar Exam this February. As a result, I wanted to pick a blog to follow during my experience. I must say, I am dissapointed with this blog: the updates are lacking, there seems to be some strange dispute with commentators that is tough to decipher, and lots of deleted comments. What is going on?
Can anyone recommend a superior Cal Bar Exam blog?
Anon 2:23: You've arrived here at a time when the my enthusiasm for the CA bar exam has waned. As you have noticed, I used to be much more interested in posting about my bar exam experiences, but now, not so much. Besides, there's only so much one can write about before one begins to repeat oneself. I'm afraid that on some subjects I've already repeated myself more times that I can bear. And while I recognize that some readers have come here only recently, I am unable to rekindle the enthusiasm I once held for the exam. My apologies.
If you're looking for a fresher take on the exam, I can only suggest you check out some of the blogs I've listed in my Blogroll. Many of those, however, have become somewhat as stagnant as mine as the proprietors have moved on to more worthy pursuits after having succeeded in their goal of passing the exam. As a result, you may have to click through to other blogs before you find fresher content.
Best of luck to you. I hope your journey to your law license is much shorter than mine has been.
GP
Thank you. It is very meaningful that the blog's owner would respond to me in such a prompt fashion. I will take this responsive into consideration when making my decision.
One further question: When researching past posts I noticed lots of deleted comments. Are there unruly commentators here? That is obviously a negative factor in my decision. I prefer frank, intelligent and uncensored communications in my blogs.
Thank you very much for the response and well wishes. I look forward to considering your blog.

I assure you sir that there is no better choice for a blog than Poobah Cat's blogosphere. I've been corresponding with PC over email and he is honorable and true to his word and convictions. I am impressed by his character and eagerly await to learn more about his adventures. The only risk of devoting time to his blog (as I have) is that Poobah Cat is going to pass in November and begin great adventure as Poobah Cat, Esq.! At that point his blogosphere will become of no use to non-lawyers like you.
Anon 1:33: First, I have always tried to be responsive to folks who ask questions. I've not always been able to answer all questions, but I've tried in good faith.
The recent spate of deleted comments was due to a particularly determined anonymous commenter who, despite repeated requests to cease and desist, failed to do so. The comments were not abusive, but they became annoying in their frequency. As a result, I had to enable moderation and went back and deleted the vast majority of the comments.
If you go back further (past six months or so), you will find that I only deleted the most heinous, vile, or slanderous comments. You will have to leave their actual content to your imagination, however, as they are obviously no longer there.
I have endured quite a bit of negative input over the years but, like you, I prefer clarity over agreement. As long as the comments were not too offensive (by my decidedly lax standards) I let them stand.
Now, having said all that, let me add that my blog posts should not be used as an example of the best method (or even the 10th best method) for preparing for the bar exam. The July 2012 exam was my 11th (and perhaps not my last.) There is, however, valuable content in the comments.
If you're really looking for useful guidance on passing the bar exam, I would suggest following more than a few blogs and not relying on just one (especially not just mine), keeping in mind the dwindling frequency with which I've been posting lately. A good blog should have regular updates. I started out that way, but I never expected to have to do so for this long. My enthusiasm apparently does have limits.

Ummm ... wouldn't written comments about you be libel? I know understand why you are on try 12 or so ...
Correct, you are. But the comments that arose to libel were about someone else.
Just wondering what you think of this Defamation fact pattern. It involves Jennifer Livingston, the News Anchor from Wisconsin who was called fat by a guy named Krause. This is actually really interesting, and I think you should check it out. It is a good review for the California Bar Exam. It is at: http://california-bar-exam-pass.com/bar-review/jennifer-livingston-kenneth-krause-bullying-defamation-of-character-fact-pattern/. You should note that experts have gone on record by saying that Krause's email to Livingston is not technically "Bullying". Also note that Krause is a security guard and not in the public eye until he was "outed" by Livingston.
PC - Can we get an update post? How are you feeling about November? You were bullish on the Tolerico method before - still the case? If you get good news, what do you plan to do? If bad news, any new approaches you want to try for February?
GP - Any response to 4:12?
Indeed! About November, I am numb. It is a conditioned response to the approach of the results released date.
Still bullish about Tolerico.
Good news: Continue to do what I've been doing - post judgment work and private investigation.
Bad news: Let's not go there.
I filed my Moral Character App. in mid June 2012 after learning that I passed the Feb. CBX. I have satisfied all the other requirement to be admitted in CA. After 3 months my app. was forwarded to an analyst - Oct. 1. So far I haven't been conatcted to provide any additional docs or info. I don't have any criminal or financial issues in the past.
How long it will take for an analyst to approve my application so I can start practicing? I have job waiting for me but I can not start because I'm not licensed yet.
Anon 5:01: They say it takes at least six months to process your Moral Character App. Like you, I had no issues that would derail my approval yet it took about seven months for them to approve it.
Patience is the watchword in this case.
Anon 5:15: Regarding the defamation fact pattern, it is indeed a good case study. Without studying the facts, my gut feeling is that he does have a good case. Perhaps I'll look at it closer. If I do, I'll post my thoughts.
Thanks for the link.
It is insulting that someone of as high moral character as my friend PC has to have people approve his character. PC is the very definition of moral character!
Anon: 7:19 - Who is PC???
Let's mark this blog as officially dead (perhaps like this guy's chances to pass the bar?). No post for a month plus? I for one am taking my blog reading elsewhere. Good day.
