From your bar number, and from the bar numbers issued just before yours, you are among the first 25 to complete bar registration after the announcement. This means that some 4,800 other new lawyers will have bar numbers higher than yours (and yours is 40,435 higher than mine).
Congratulations! I myslef have been following you throughout my struggle to pass the exam. I did pass in July 2009. However, I still get nightmares about it...all those haters who didn't want me to pass (the uneducated, know it all ones), who would "encourage" me would be taking the exam beside me. Something was to go wrong. It always did. You may get these dreams and you will always remember when the exam is and when the results are coming in.
But I have to say, although it may be a relief, it is not as glamorous as it is out to be. I went from a paralegal, moved my way up, into a Staff Attorney position at a BigLaw firm in the "Silicon Valley Start Up" location, was way underpaid and treated like #@$#$@. I quite after 2 years when I got this awakening that I was essentially being abused, now doing the same sort of non-lawyer BS. These days, its all about money or just surviving..and attorney jobs just aren't as glamourous as they are out to be.
Go and try it. Maybe you will find a good niche and love your job.
Congrats! I stumbled across your blog after googling California Bar Exam and it was a compelling read (however, I stumbled across it recently so the ending was already ruined for me, but I'm glad it was a happy ending).
I passed this last bar exam too an I'm getting sworn in on Monday. I'm glad that I will be joining the profession with someone with such tenacity and resolve. Good luck with everything and I'll see you in court!

Good Brian!!!
I have been following you from Lima Peru.
I failed the Calbar but had to move on soon, then passed in Illinois in my first try and got a job at big bank.
You are a role model of persistance to many people.
Congratulations and enjoy!

Good luck, man.

Since you're not hip deep in it anymore, would you mind sharing more about your opinions regarding bar preparation programs, or bar prep in general?
Many Thanks,
