I've never seen so many future lawyers in one place at one time before. That was fun. I hope to not have to do it again soon. Actually, it was fun. My school is small so it was a treat to have something in common with this large a number of fellow students. Even though most of them were half my age!
I saw a few familiar faces. A couple were classmates and a couple were friends made at the other BarBri lectures. The DVD they handed out was new. I haven't watched any of it yet but it purports to be a collection of lectures for the MBE subjects. I don't believe it's possible to get more than about 6 hours of video on a DVD so if they are lectures, they will have to be concise.
I got the feeling that the momentum was building today. I've been studying by myself for the most part so seeing all of those other students and hearing the intro lecture was kind of like looking up from my concentration and noticing that a crowd had gathered. It's sort of like when I was a kid and my friends and I would get to Disneyland before it opened. When the guy punched our ticket we would run for the Matterhorn. The first few hundred yards it felt like we were the only ones heading for the ride. Then the closer we got, the more people we noticed running in the same direction, going to the same place. By the time we got there, we were part of a large crowd.
Starting law school was the guy punching my ticket. And I've just looked up and noticed that I'm part of a big group heading for the same three day ride.
This should be fun!

I don't think there is anyone from my school at Barbri.
Not surprising. There is something like 8,000 people taking the bar exam this Summer and BarBri can only handle so many. And it's not the best method of preparation for many people, regardless of their school.
I believe BarBri will handle as many as want to fork over $x,xxx.xx. They've run multiple sections in WLA, and satellite sessions elsewhere in SoCal.

How true. And what a gold mine it is. I've often wondered if I couldn't make more money teaching people how to pass the Bar rather than practicing law. It would take me a while to perfect my method and gain a reputation, (time that I really don't have at this stage in my life), but it would likely be a lot less stressful.
