I've discovered something about myself

I can stay up until 1am or 2am studying but my effectiveness drops off around midnight. Then the lack of sleep has a negative effect on my ability to study the following day.

I've found that if I impose a 11pm study cutoff with a goal to be in bed at midnight improves my overall effectiveness.

That may seems like common sense to most people, but it's easy to over-extend yourself when you're sitting where I'm sitting.

How do you stay up and study all that stuff? Rather, what do you study? Do you re-hash the old?
I feel like i already memorized all the barbri essay patterns and all the answers in both PMBR books.

I don't think I'll ever feel like I know enough. That's just me.

If you have that stuff memorized already then you're ahead of the game. Well, you're ahead of me, anyway.

GP, your words are very encouraging.

I think knowledge of the law is half the battle. I just break down when they pass out the exam at the center. My mind goes Etch-a-sketch.
I know its a cop-out or something like that, but i think it's the mental aspect that keeps repeaters from success.
Anyhow, sorry for the rant. It's back to BarBri's and PMBR's for me. Maybe i'll actually splurge for Micromash.

P.S. I know it's a bit masochistic but i may just enjoy studying and taking this thing this time around.

Hey, rants are definitely allowed. This exam has inspired more than a few over the years.

It's usually the MBEs that I find myself doing after midnight. I wouldn't be able to stay awake if I was trying to read an outline at that hour. That's a sure cure for insomnia.

I've heard lots of stories about people passing when they take a calm, relaxed attitude into the exam. I'm not exactly sure how they achieve that state of mind, but my goal is to study enough to make it easier find a similar happy place during those three days.

Hey, it's a goal. And nobody said goals had to be realistic! (;-)>

Thanks, biff. Keeps me focused.

GP,

I believe MBEs are my strong subject. I've done over 2500 at this point. If i can be of assistance please let me know. Even if you don't, let me know, i found when i explain stuff, it cements it in my mind.

Thanks Otto.

I know what you mean about explaining it to someone else. As far as resources go, I've got three profs, two past successful bar takers, and three study buddies whom I use to help with stubborn issues. However, in the event that one of them is unavailable, I'll be sure to post my problem here and open it up to the knowledge of the collective mind.

If it's possible, in your future posts, please post the new material such as new California Evidence material, California Civil Procedure and if you still got strength some Agency and Partnership, as told by BariBri.

It will be appreciated by me and all those who took barbri before the changes took place.

If you will do it, i promise you a 10 point increase in your essay score due to good karma =)

I'll see what I can do. I obviously can't post anything copyrighted by BarBri but the rules themselves are fair game.

I'll try to post interesting and/or pertinent material as I find it when I go over the new subjects.
