MBEs a Gone-Gone!

Alrighty then.... I missed 38 of the second 100. But let me tell you ... I would have greatly preferred the peace and tranquility of the true exam environment over the BS distractions that I had to endure this morning.

Anyway, that gives me a raw 132 for the 200 questions. I know that's considered average for the questions on the Bar Exam, but I didn't expect to miss that many.

It's tough to stay on a level emotional plane during these days leading up to the exam. I want to tell myself that I'm doing well enough in my preparation and that it will all come together at the right time. All of the subjects are familiar enough by now that subconsciously, and consciously for that matter, I feel like I should be able to pass this thing. Then I run into a particularly nasty question or set of MBEs and the little seed of panic jumps to life and starts to grow in the pit of my stomach. Do I really have a handle on this stuff? Have I practiced enough to perform well on the exam? Are there enough hours left in the days before July 24th to absorb all of the trivia that I need to remember? Will I ever get there?

Blah.

Hi,
I bought a used BARBRI home lecture series to study for the bar. I'm a bit worried b/c I have a lecture for corporations but not business associations, and I know we're being tested on BA this year and not just corporations. However, then I looked at the BARBRI website and I didn't see a 2007 lecture day for BA, but I did see one for corporations. Can any of you barbri takers explain this? Also, could any of you send me a BA outline that you've put together from barbri that I can compare to my corporations one? (also if anyone has CA evidence and crim pro advice/outlines, I would love those as well)
Thanks,

Vert: The essays are coming along pretty well as long as I have my outline in front of me and I can copy over the rule statements. My natural tendency is to explain everything completely so I need to work on shuttin' my damn self up, so to speak. When I keep my rules and analysis short, I do well. Otherwise I ramble. I need to work on memorizing the rules.

Richard: I spent a lot of time with the MBEs early in my preparation. You probably can't do too many. I put the counter up there so I wouldn't zone out and forget exactly how close the bar exam really is. Crikey, there's only 34 days left!

Anastacia: I don't have any in electronic format or I would send you mine. But I'll check around and see what I can come up with.

GP: That's still a great score at this juncture! I know people who were nowhere near that at PMBR one week from Game Day.
Also, the memorization of the rules can start now, but it really gets perfected in the last two weeks, or so I hear:)) You'll pull it together!

From what I read, you are way ahead of the crowd in terms of prep. I wish I can trade places with you. I bet many July bar takes would agree with me.

Biff: I appreciate the vote of confidence very much, especially coming from someone in our position who knows how much of a challenge this thing is. I'm working hard at this and it's good to get some positive feedback. Thanks for that!

RoseAnn: I'm glad to be a pleasant distraction for you while we are in this unpleasant process. And thanks very much for the words of encouragement!

I think you just got hit with what I got hit with - the mid-game lull. Those of us who started off strong and steady are, well, tired. We've hit the wall. Take a break when you need it, work when you're capable - that's my new attitude. It's either that or things in my house are going to start gettng thrown - especially if Barbri graders send back another essay giving me 29/100 without any explanation when I hit 4 of the 6 major issues. Blah is right.
