The perils of public speaking...

Over on Blogging the Bar, WestEast mentioned that a person from PMBR noticed her post about the testing accommodations at the local PMBR 3-day session and left a brief comment that explained the situation. That confirms a suspicion I've had for a while. Or, at least, it tends to indicate that there may something to my theory. What theory, you ask? Why, this theory, of course...

Our blog posts, and the comments thereto, probably have some value to the Bar prep service providers. When we post our thoughts and opinions here, we tend to honestly describe our interactions with these vendors in the hope that others in our position can learn from our experience and thereby make better, more educated, decisions about where and how to spend their money. These are opinions that the vendors would not hear if they were to ask us directly. If I was in their shoes I know that I would mine this resource.

My point is that the next time you get ready to click on the "publish post" button with that scathing critique of the lecturer you endured while attending "Joe Bob Brigg's Handy Dandy Top Secret Sure Fire Bar Exam Annihilation Methodologies, And Rodeo" seminar; just know that they may be reading what you write about them. And while this is just opinion and not fodder for a defamation suit, remember the Golden Rule. And that is ...

If they leave a comment complaining about your disparaging remarks, ask them for a refund.

Or something to that effect.

It's late (early) and I'm off to bed. Whaddya' say we do this again tomorrow, eh?

Yep, first thing.

I've had some odd visitors too. Consulting agencies and even the ABA have been to my blog. I take back my PMBR praise because like most test pointers they're outdated and only applied to a specfiic type of question. I guess the benefit is solely just practicing and getting familiar with POE. I suppose the questions fill in rote memorization gaps too.

How doe they even know these blogs exist??? I think they do visit Jdunderground, tho. That place is going off my list right quick. Getting more vile by the day as the Bar approaches.

Vert: I'll say one thing for the PMBR MBEs, they make you rehash the entire rule in your head before making a choice. That must be of some benefit.

Blondie: All they have to do is a Google search for "CA blogs 2007" or something similar. Or that, plus their name. It's relatively easy to do. And I agree on the JDUnderground thing. I almost removed them the day after they asked me to add them. It's populated largely by a bunch of cretins. There are some reasonable posts, but those are vastly outnumbered by the juvenile name calling type posts. I'll abstain from making a decision until after the exam.
