That's what I want to say to myself on Friday, July 27th.
For two reasons... 1) I want to be able to thank my brain for regurgitating all of the trivia that I've diligently pack in there over the past few years (and weeks!) , and; 2) I want to feel like that was the last Bar Exam I'll ever take and that the memories will be good ones.
One can hope, eh?
I wish I could memorize the way I did in elementary school when I simply repeated things to myself over and over until my brain was imprinted. The problem here is that there's simply too much to memorize. Besides, I know most of the material (knock on my wooden head, again) it's just the specific wording to some of the rules that I lack.
It's like when I was a kid and I played the Clarinet. In my Junior year of High School I was first chair, 2nd Clarinet; and my Senior year I was first chair, 1st Clarinet; and I didn't know the names of the notes. I had achieved pretty good success, but I couldn't look at a page and tell you what a particular note was on the sheet music. It didn't seem important. Who cares what the notes were called when all I had to do was know how to play, and I played pretty well! I knew what note corresponded to where my fingers had to go on the Clarinet, I just didn't know the name of the darn note.
Here, I know an issue when I see it in a fact pattern, and I know how to write about it, but I don't always have a specific rule statement for it. My description of it changes subtly every time I write it out. But I can play it if I hear it!
So I'm going to spend most of the last week trying to remedy that shortcoming.

I can't bear to look at the counter on your page. Every time I look at your blog, I'm very careful not to look right. =)
I've actually created a countdown timer for my desktop that stays in the foreground. It's got a title that reads "GET BACK TO WORK!!!"
I absolutely must have that reminder in my face or I lose focus. As it is, I am not as diligent as I know I need to be.
Blah...
I am exactly the same. I cannot memorize to save my life. I have been able to get through school without the ability...but am afraid this is where it ends! Using neumonics doesn't help..b/c that requires me to remember something else! I'm very nervous about this!
Former clarinet band nerds unite! Those skills have to come in handy somehow!
where can you download a desktop countdown timer?
Amanda: That's Exactly Right! If I can memorize all of those songs and marching routines for the different half-time shows, surely I can remember something as trivial as this! I can, can't I? Yeah, no problem.
Anon: I found one here. It's usage is limited to 30 days unless you buy the upgrade, but I only need 10 days, 9 hours, 12 minutes, 3 seconds, 2, 1, ...

ooh shit - 3 hours away from the 10 day countdown! You better have one up there for the results! :)
Thanks for the link to the desktop clock! I just downloaded it but took off the seconds counter because otherwise I would be headed for another meltdown.
Richard: I hadn't thought about that, but it's a great idea. I'll probably just repurpose this one after the exam.
Go, Poo, go!

Thanks Jonathan. I'll try to make the Alma Mater proud!
