I know I said I'd try to update this thing on a more regular basis but it's tough to find something to write about when... well, there's nothing to write about.
I'm just working and catching up on projects around the house that I had put off until "after the bar exam". I'm in a bit of a hurry now to get some of those projects done just in case I have to start putting things off again (Knocking on my wooden head. Again.)
Regarding those jobs... At the one, I've been writing status letters, serving subpoenas, and behaving generally like a law clerk. But next week I get to do a couple of witness interviews. I might not be making the big bucks (yet) (;-)> but I'm not bored.
At the other job I'm learning the nuts and bolts of a technology that I've only been exposed to peripherally in the past. That in itself is exciting, but the real cool aspect of this job is that it has the feel of a city or corporate attorney position in that the legal element is more like that of a counselor than a litigator. Very interesting, it is!
So, as you can see, I'm not bored. Tired, maybe, but not bored. I've found that I need more sleep when I factor commuting into my day. I used to be able to get by on six hours or so when all I was doing was studying. Go figure. (;-)>
Oh, and by the way, there's only 24 days until the results come out. How are YOU sleeping these days?!?

did you take patent bar?
Bar results dreams started up nearly two weeks ago. So far, no complete nightmares - just a combination of hope and anxiety in various as I get ready to check the results (Nov. 2nd).
And I just landed a job - starting on Monday the 29th. Yes, job begins Monday, results due on Friday - which means that (1) I will not get to be huddled in my bathrobe clutching a cup of coffee and bottle of Kahlua when I check the website (I think the boss would frown on that), (2) I may not even be the first to know - wouldn't it suck to be in a hearing while one of your new colleagues is checking the pass list?, and (3) this could possibly be my shortest-ever period of employment. When New Boss mentioned issuing a press release, I was foolish enough to suggest he wait until after next week. The better move would have been to encourage an immediate release that they would later be reluctant to retract.
Cutie: No, I haven't taken the Patent Bar. They require a certain type of degree and mine is too generic. Besides that, my degree is from 1986. Technology has changed too much for anything I learned back then to be pertinent in today's world. I've thought about taking that exam but I would have to go back to school for the proper degree. I'm okay with that idea but I need to get a few things squared away first, like passing this bar!
Bar Daze: I've only had one results-related dream and it was a positive one. I find that odd. Congrats on the job! Both of the guys I'm working for have told me that they expect a call the moment I get the results. If I wasn't nervous about the results before, I sure am now.
