Is it February yet?

Before I write anything else here, I want to thank everyone who has expressed their support (and condolences!) both in the comments section and in the personal e-mails. They are sincerely appreciated. Thanks very much for that!

I registered for the Feb ’08 exam a couple of hours after reality set in. And my name is not on the pass list that was released today so I suspect I’ll not be receiving a pleasant surprise in the mail tomorrow or Tuesday. Blah.

I’m thinking of not shaving until I pass this thing. Do you think they’ll let me in the next exam if they can’t recognize me? I wonder.

As an act of defiance to the Bar gods, I’m thinking of getting a tattoo. Something along the lines of “I fought the Bar, and the Bar won.” I have to find a suitable graphic to go along with the words. Perhaps a shot of some week old road kill would be appropriate. But then that wouldn’t be very “defiant”, would it? I’ll have to put some more thought into that one.

There’s a little voice in my head that’s telling me that I wouldn’t appreciate my law license if it wasn’t hard enough to get. I’ve been telling that little voice that it’s been plenty hard up to this point, what more does it want? Silence was its reply. I hope it comes up with an answer before February.

Hey, at least I don’t have to buy any more study material! And I think I might be able to get some money back from a couple of the programs that guaranteed "A pass or your money back!" You’re expecting another ‘blah’ here, aren’t you?

Blah.

And so it continues.....

Me too man. "Oh well" is all I feel at this point.

Which repeater's class are you going to use? Essay Advantage? Barpassers? A private tutor?

I like your optimism regarding the money back or pass programs. You showed them! : )

GP, I am sorry to hear about your result. Like your friends here, I am also sure that you will kick CBX's ass this February. Good Luck.

GP, I've been an avid reader for a while, and studying with you throughout the summer. I'm in the same seat...

I'm still feeling a little blah myself. Don't get that tatt just yet. Get it in May, when the Feb 08 results come out: "I fought the Bar and kicked its ass!" I may just get one with you.

PB, I too did not pass and I'm a lawyer from another state. I hope you realize that you are not starting from scratch. You are at the top of a huge mountain and it's only the very top that you didn't make it over. Regroup, catch your breath and attack--you will make it in February. It's the people that beat themselves up that have trouble on the next round. Pat yourself on the back. The test is a bitch and you took it on. You'll beat it next time.

Also, biting the bullet is part of being a lawyer. Your client didn't lose his house, his money or custody of his kids. There will be harder pills to swallow. This will make you strong.

I just found your blog and thank you so much for sharing your experiences.
I didn't pass the bar, and friday night I couldn't sleep at all. I just couldn't believe it. But reading your blog really helped, especially since I am the only person in my circle of friends who didn't pass.

Again, thanks for sharing. On to round II!!
