A Public Service Announcement

As we prepare for each session, the Proctors will go through the instructions and procedures and warnings and blah-de-blah about the exam in general and for that session in particular.

It doesn't take long before you become aware that the one thing each of these instruction sessions have in common are the ominous warnings about "Rule Twelve" violations and the vague and mysterious doom that awaits violators. I think this is just one more tool in their box for ratcheting up the pressure. After all, no one wants to contemplate getting this far towards earning their license only to be derailed at the last minute by some inadvertent (or even advertent) violation of a mysterious rule that we hadn't heard about until this very minute. The thought that went through my head when I first heard it (besides wtf is rule 12?) is "Why didn't we hear about this in PR, ConLaw, or CivPro, or even in our bar prep course?"

If the same thought went through your mind, fret not because relief has arrived. The problem has been solved; the mystery unraveled. Here is the text of "Rule XII" (or at least the text of the rule in its currently state of modification because this is the first version I found and I didn't want to spend too much time today away from my outlines).

Welcome, you are.

And now, to borrow a phrase from my first attempt at this exam that I hope proves more prophetic this time ...

"Kick ass everyone! Let's bend this thing to our will and make it lay down and beg for mercy!"

Day one was reasonable. That withdrawal issue on the PR was a pain in the ass, but everything else seemed fair.

I thought PT A was incredibly hard.

I agree... I have no idea how I feel about PT today

PT A has made me ill and discouraged. Thought the morning session of Torts, PR and Crim Pro was fair.

But that PT A has demoralized.

that's the word here too:

"like getting raped"
"hard as fuk"

What the hell was it supposed to be? What was the basic organization even?

Thursdays should be easier to setup (usually a hard one and an easy one, right?)

Actually that was the same person (I know because it was me)

But I'd like to hear everyones thoughts.

Organization on that was terrible.

Statute of Limitations I couldnt even find the elements from the rules.

Seemed like a big mind fuck. Hopefully I get a BBS pass on this "Bullshit Baffles Brains"

Also, this is my 2nd go around at the bar. First time I got in July 07 I got 60s on both PTs and I thought I nailed them at the time. And if I think I nailed them and didnt pass, this is bad news cause this one I clearly know I didnt nail; it nailed me.

What's the update on predictions for next batch of essays?

I am going to go with CP - Corps - ConLaw EP-DP - I am clueless really - I was expecting a Crimpro - not murder - also a full PR - what else do you guys think?

I was really expecting more posts about the Cal Bar. There is a 50 post thread on the NY Bar at JDUnderground. Granted they finished 3 hours ahead of us...

PT-A was difficult. I did not make good use of all of the cases. I threw them in to further support some arguements at the end, but most of the support for the 3 questions came from Civ Pro Code (part 1 and 2) and the last case (for part 3). I am sure the grader will be scratching their head trying to make heads or tails of my responses!

PT A was hard! Everyone felt the same way so I guess we are all in the same boat!

And the rule 12: I was told my earplugs would get confiscated because of the cord! And in a very bad tone too, 2 minutes before the exam!

How about Civpro, Corps/ agency/ will/ trusts? And may be contracts???
