Something tells me that ...

... I'm not going to be getting much sleep these next two weeks.

Especially not when Steve Liosi offers up stuff like this to disturb my peaceful slumber.

Like Charlie Brown, all I can say is "Rats!"

I agree with you. I can only think of a chain of fasting & prayer (12 hours ?)

The answers on the link are all B-S!! They missed a lot and stressed too much on the tiny little issues. Don't worry; Bryant, you'll pass! Stand with you, Man!

Did you do a bar prep course? My friend in NY went to some guy named Mr Pieper and swears by him.

I wonder if these types of guys are better than BarBri?

Jack: I didn't read them in detail. I try not to dwell too much on potentially correct answers until I know whether or not I need to look at mine again. I just scan stuff like this to see if we agree on the main points.

Kris: I've heard about Pieper but I think he operates only in the New York area.

Those aren't official model answers, that forum is basically an advertisement.

Keep the faith.

We both starting taking the CBX at the same time - I am also awaiting results from my 3rd try. I've been reading your blog the whole time.

Please don't sweat the model answers. Who cares if some licensed attorney can write answer that scores 110?

Hang in there.

The answers are far from being model.

To Grand Poohbah,
From your earlier posts of what you wrote on the essay, it looks like you got all the major issues. Thank you very much for providing us with the link to the law forum. I read the model an swers on there and your answers seem to be right on target. I never knew about that forum and enjoyed reading the posts there. I look forward to seeing a happy picture of you on this site, smiling saying, "I passed" !

I also like the countdown clock you have on this site. Boy is it getting close now !

thanks again for all that you have shared with us. I hope your new business is doing well.

GP,

The crowd is silent.

You could hear a pin drop.

However, you know that they are sending you the warmest vibes, wishing you victory in your battle against this Dragon of an exam.

Hold your head high, and fear not!

To all who anxiously read these posts:

I come here to co-miserate, thinking it will somehow help. Luckily, it does help a little.

Fear and sleepless nights haunts me.
Everyone now knows that I am waiting for this Friday for the results.

What do I tell everyone if I fail?

It will be so embarrassing. Why it spread to the entire neighborhood, my head thinks it spread to the entire city - that I will know my results this Friday.

What do I do if I fail? How do I face my neighbors, my friends, my mentors who keep telling me how smart I am and that they know I will pass with flying colors?

Even John F Kennedy, our former President did not pass until the 3rd attempt.

Do I tell them that? Will they think I am just an idiot?

I stay awake at night thinking up good reasons, good excuses to tell everyone. I think I am now going bald. My hair keeps falling out.

What are you guys thinking?

I've looked at two sites for model anwsers so far, and frankly, I don't like either of them. I've gone over all six of the essay questions more time than I'd like to admit.

So the essays I've sceen give me hope. Hope that maybe even my lousy anwsers were good enough.

Waiting for results
Thinking of trying again
Forgetting to live.

Try to think positively. I am praying for you even though I don't pray.

Yes, indeed, people will think you are an idiot if you say that JFK failed the bar three times, as JFK, our former president, was not a lawyer and did not take any bars!

His son, JFK, Jr. did fail a few times, but he was not the president.

Good luck on the test, and if you need examples of people failing, there are plenty--Kathleen Sullivan, Antonio Villaraigosa, etc. But not JFK, Jr. in Cali (he failed NY) and not JFK!

Of course we all feel the same way as you do. All of my family, in-laws, church family, etc. tell me I'll pass. But remember through God all things are possible and in His time, not ours.

To everyone who is worried what everyone will think. A wise man once said:

"You would worry less about what people think about you if you really knew how seldom they do, in reality."

I know it is trite, but it is so true. Just think of someone else who you know and respect who is sharing this journey with you and ask yourself how do you feel about THAT person. That will give you a better idea of how others are TRULY thinking about you, during the few moments that they actually do.

This is your journey and your dragon to slay. Some people have cancer, you have the bar exam.

I am not sure which is worse...

Ok, those model answers are uh..ok. On Essay 2- the last question about 4th Amendment- the model answer says that a person has a Reasonable Expectation of Privacy in their financail docs (aka bank records)... too bad the Supreme Court doesn't agree with the law professor. US v. Miller held that a person DOES NOT have REP in bank records.

Around 72 hours to go... good luck to all!!!!

I think we all come here for support and I love Poohbah's blog. I have taken this exam now several times and this time I really am having a hard time digesting another go. It is what I want but it feels like the equivalent of training for a marathon or maybe the olympics is better, you spend a ton of money, you give it your best, people know about your feat, and then you don't win the gold, silver or bronze, instead you just get another go at it. Meanwhile you are supposed to remain positive, think about all of the things in your life that are great (which I do remind myself of every day if not more) yet somehow it is still so hard. My heart goes out to all of you taking this for more than one time. I have been there, am still there and really wish everyone the best and a PASS. I personally am dreading going online on Friday, if for no reason other than because I have that feeling as a memory of going on line with the best of hope only to see the message "your name does not appear on the list of those who passed" or whatever it says. Poohbah thanks for this site. I haven't been on for a couple of months and suddenly this week felt the need to come back on line and check to see what else everyone is thinking.

Hope we all pass.

I really appreciate this blog, Poobah. It's been hard to find a blog for July 2008 takers.

I am crossing my fingers for ALL OF US, repeaters and first timers.

Like a previous poster mentioned, I know that really no one I know will be bothered if I fail (except my parents and husband) and I know many who have failed and I NEVER think "oh what a loser." Rather, I feel an outpouring of empathy. It's simply a crappy test meant to exclude.

I hope all of us have good news!

good luck GP

Everyone: Thank you very much.

Even if I don't pass this thing, I've greatly enjoyed the commentary with all of you who have left comments.

Well, okay, most of you who have left comments. (;-)>

I very much appreciate your support. Please know that I hope and pray that we will all be successful in this challenge.

This time. Not next time.

I hope and pray that we will all be successful in this challenge THIS TIME!

For what its worth, I think that you have achieved a lot. As you said, this is your SECOND career -- most people haven't gotten their first one down. Also, you went to school at a later age -- most people are not determined enough to be able to do that.

Take a step back and think about all you have already achieved. I am sure you will be very proud of yourself. Perhaps, that will place this bar exam in some contrast to your achievements.

Still, I wish you the best and I hope you pass.
