Small School Benefits

One of the valuable differences between small schools like mine and the larger schools (from what I've heard) is that the Profs at the small schools are willing to spend more one-on-one time with the students. I'm heading out now to spend a few hours with one other student at a coffee shop with one of the Profs. We're going to be going over Con Law. Of course he charges for his time, but the value is immense.

Who did you have coffee with? Ed? Peter?

It was Peter. When he's making a point he's difficult to ignore. We usually occupy a table for 4-5 hours so we have the potential to annoy quite a few people. But as long as we're outside, the damage is minimal.

Besides being very informative, these little group meetings with him are a load of fun. The time really flies in an environment like that. He's pretty intense and he makes sure you understand what he's talking about. It's altogether a very productive few hours.
