I don't know what's worse; 1) watching the days tic slowly by, one at a time; or 2) putting the whole mess out of my mind, then tuning back in occasionally to discover that only three or four days have come off the timer.

I think you should put the mess out of your mind but not tune back in until at most 2-3 days before.
I would say the latter . . .
Waiting for results is worse than taking the dang exam. I'm waiting for AZ results, and it looks like those are coming out next week. NV results are out today - many other states have released results.

Jonathan: I'm spending so many hours in front of this computer working on our project that my wife thinks I've secretly begun to study for the July bar.
Coming along, it is. In fits and starts. It was going great for a while there. Then the wheels came off when I changed notice types. It's like a soapbox derby car losing all its momentum on a hill in the middle of the course. But as soon as I top the crest my speed will pick up again.
I vow to endeavor to persevere!

I have been reading your blog since January. Very well conceived my friend. I wish you well on the the 16th. I looked at the outline of your answers and was impressed with 85 percent of it. I would have been content with your responses. I am a first time, out of state, taker. These are some frustrating days, and only got worse when I found out my girl was with my good friend. Ha. Pretty sure I did not pass, it is disappointing because I was very well prepared, more so than when I killed the exam in another state. But, I guess there is still hope for 13 days. Ha. Anyway, check out, if you want, jdjinx as the writing edge has posted there model answers. (Which I thought were terrible) But what do I know? Good luck to you. (I have never seen any of the star wars movies.)
Michigan results were put in the mail yesterday. One of my close friends, not a repeater (took and passed FL in July) score a 156 scaled MBE (prob 138 raw based on a 18 point scale- MI didnt tell what the scale was according to him).
This is about 6 raw points better than his July score and he prepared more for July than Feb so goodluck!

To 99 problems: I sympathize with you. I passed with ease in another state, and have a strong feeling I will be taking the exam again in July.
GP: If I were grading the exam, you would have passed the first time. But remember, the CA BAR Exam takes the HOLISTIC approach. Only in CA would they come up with that one.
What the hell is that supposed to mean? This is a licensing exam, not an exam for yoga or zen meditation.

I found your blog after taking the CA Bar exam in July 2007 and have since been a constant, but silent, visitor. I practiced law in another state for almost 10 years and, admittedly, was ill-prepared for my July attempt. I was one of those attorneys who thought my past experience would carry over to the exam. I certainly hope I have better "luck" this time around. The anxiety is absolutely eating me. At the same time, I am looking forward to next Friday, yet dreading entering my information on the Bar's website to see if my name appears. I recall my feeling of desparation last November and can't bear the thought of feeling the same way again. I believe I was better prepared in February; although, those PTs seem to get the best of me. Good luck next Friday! I hope we will exhale with relief when our names appear on the pass list next week!

The last few hours of waiting are excruciating. I know you've been through that - and you know you have a lot of us and your family/friends believing in you.
